Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Outpatient Appointments Administrator to coordinate and manage patient appointments within a busy call centre and administrative environment. You will book and monitor outpatient appointments, support referrals, and ensure accurate data entry across hospital systems.

Responsibilities

• Book, amend and monitor outpatient appointments
• Manage and track patient referrals using e-Referral systems and worklists
• Provide a high standard of customer service via phone, email and face-to-face
• Handle enquiries, messages and queries efficiently, escalating where appropriate
• Maintain accurate data entry and data quality across hospital systems
• Support rebooking of cancelled clinics under supervision
• Ensure patient information is processed promptly to support care
• Follow Trust policies on confidentiality and data protection
• Maintain organised administrative systems, scanning, filing and confidential waste
• Collaborate with team and assist with training/new staff as needed
