Job summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 2 Receptionist to join the Ophthalmology outpatient reception. This full-time post is 37.5 hours per week, with current patterns 08:00-16:00, 08:30-16:30 and 09:00-17:00.

You will welcome patients, prepare files for clinic, be the first point of contact for Clinic or Eye Casualty, and arrange follow-up appointments. Strong customer service and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Reception experience within a customer service setting
• Call centre experience
• Experience within an NHS administrative environment

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients into the departments and preparing patient files for clinic appointments
• First point of call for patients attending Clinic or Eye Casualty
• Arrange follow-up appointments and escalate issues as needed
