Job summary

APC Overnight in the United Kingdom is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our depot management team. This hands-on role supervises Driver and Warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient daily activities and high service standards.

You will lead both Driver and Warehouse teams, plan delivery routes for AM operations and oversee PM collections, providing training and ensuring compliance with safety and transport regulations. A forklift licence and prior logistics experience are preferred.

• Basic understanding of route planning and operational logistics.
• Forklift Truck licence (or willingness to undertake training).
• Previous experience in parcel distribution, logistics, transport or warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the depot, ensuring parcel sort activities meet standards.
• Lead and support Driver and Warehouse colleagues as part of depot management.
• Manage Driver and Warehouse teams to ensure productivity and performance.
• Plan and coordinate AM delivery routes, considering timeframes, areas, vehicle restrictions, and collections.
• Allocate PM collections to correct routes and meet timescales.
• Deliver training and coaching to employees, agency workers, and subcontractors.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with vehicle maintenance schedules and transport regulations.
• Investigate and report on accidents, employee matters and security concerns.
• Complete operational reports and administrative duties accurately and on time.
• Promote a strong Health and Safety culture within the depot.
• Delegate tasks and ensure completion through follow-up and monitoring.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
• Manage stock and inventory control processes.
• Load and unload vehicles using forklift trucks.
• Act as a key holder for the depot, including opening and securing premises.
