Job summary

InPost Ltd. in Yeovil is seeking a seasoned Warehouse Operations Manager to lead the parcel sortation depot and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. You’ll own daily despatch, supervise the shift team and ensure high standards of service.

You’ll develop people, manage safety, costs and performance against KPIs, and collaborate with regional leadership to exceed customer expectations. A hands-on leader with strong operational focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven extensive experience managing mechanical parcel sortation and process operations.
• Proven expertise in continuous improvement with process enhancements.
• Knowledge of Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph, and WTD legislation.
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge in fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated leadership to manage and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience in budget management, KPI development and performance analysis.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with tight deadlines.
• Proficient in using Transport Management Systems and Warehouse Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for daily management and supervision of the despatch operation to deliver high performance.
• Lead, support and develop the operational team with a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure the operation meets customer expectations and contract KPIs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, focusing on Health & Safety.
• Collaborate with Regional and Depot Managers to achieve targets.
• Conduct regular team performance reviews and training.
• Optimise deployment and utilisation of drivers and vehicles.
• Collect and report on performance data to identify improvements and cost savings.
• Oversee site housekeeping and maintenance to keep the depot safe and compliant.
• Be prepared to travel occasionally across the UK.
