Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of an Operations Manager on a 6-month contract highly likely to be extended at client discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay : 40.04 - 53.95 per hour

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and ongoing improvement of the council's housing and corporate repairs service.
• Oversee staffing budgets (c.10m) and equipment to ensure effective service delivery.
• Manage large-scale repairs and maintenance programmes ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Lead on procurement and contract management of maintenance providers.
• Support operational teams and front-line operatives being present on site 4 out of 5 days.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of building construction, property maintenance and housing standards.
• Proven track record of leading operational teams in a housing or local authority environment.
• Experience managing high-value budgets and resources.

Essentials

• Ability to work primarily on site (4 days per week minimum).
• Demonstrable experience in housing repairs, construction or property maintenance.
