Title: Operations Manager

Job purpose:

To plan and organise operational activities to ensure the smooth delivery of events.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Responsible for the delivery of the rota to ensureall shifts are covered and all team members are aware of their working shifts.

To cost the rota and to work within a budget percentage. A KPI will measure staff costs as a percentage of work completed each week.

Responsible for ensure correct productivity levels within the units and ensure protocols are adhered to. This includes daily target meetings, reporting progress levels for short and long term targets, and working with the unit leadership team to drive productivity.

To provide a wage breakdown each week for weekly or monthly paid staff including any freelance invoices. Reporting figures compared to event target GP% and general operating budgets.

Responsible for confirming all order details with clients to ensure the correct equipment is specified for each event. This includes confirming address details for events and booking any required hotels.

Confirming times for installations, deliveries, operational shifts and derig shifts and confirming the logistics to complete all tasks to deliver all events on time and on budget.

To ensure the vehicle fleet is suitable for the delivery of the events whilst maintaining the cost of the fleet to within the target cost percentage.

To ensure the correct crew members with the correct skill set are on the relevant jobs. This includes planning regular training sessions to broaden the skill set of existing staff.

Liaise and attend meetings with staff and senior management where necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development

Attending training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Key Performance Indicators:

% of Staff cost to value of work completed

% of Vehicle costs to value of work completed

% of Delivery cost to budget

Skills requires:

The correct candidate with have high personal and professional standards, be well organised and punctual.

They will have a 2+ years experience of planning and logistics, preferably within the live event industry and a proven track record in running a team of people.

They must be able to communicated well with customers, venues and staff to ensure the companies values and principals are upheld. This communication will include telephone calls, emails and face to face meetings.

Working location and Hours:

The position will be based in out unit at Joseph Adamson Ind Est on Croft Street in Hyde. Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. Additional hours/days may be required at various times throughout the year in order to complete necessary jobs and/or tasks. Any authorised additional hours will be remunerated accordingly.
