Job summary

A leading marine logistics company based in the City of London is seeking a professional to ensure optimal utilization of their fleet of tankers. You will coordinate ship operations and negotiate chartering contracts while preparing performance reviews. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience and a degree in Business or Logistics. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of chartering / operations / post fixture experience with shipowners, charterers or shipbrokers.
  • Experience in commercial aspects of ship operations and management is preferred.
  • Possess sailing experience will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Invite & obtain agencies' quotations from shipping agents.
  • Compare & negotiate on agency rates.
  • Monitor & liaise with agents on tanker movements.
  • Arrange pilot for inward, berthing, unberthing & outward passage.
  • Advise & monitor vessel's status of operation.
  • Prepare & instruct vessel for loading and discharging operations.
  • Report to charterers on the status of tanker operation.
  • Follow-up with customers on payment matters.

Job description

You will ensure optimal utilization of our existing fleet of tankers. You will coordinate on all ship operations as per time and spot charters and communicate closely with the Master in-charge to ensure the tanker operations are carried out smoothly. You will also be involved in claims matters and participate in negotiations of chartering contracts and prepare voyage performance for management reviews.

Responsibilities:
  • Invite & obtain agencies' quotations from shipping agents before appointment
  • Compare & negotiate on agency rates
  • Monitor & liaise with agents on tanker movements
  • Arrange pilot for Singapore inward, berthing, unberthing & outward passage
  • Advise & monitor vessel's status of operation
  • Prepare & instruct vessel for loading and discharging operations
  • Report to charterers on the status of tanker operation
  • Follow-up with customers on payment matters
Requirements:
  • Degree / Diploma in Business Administration/ Commerce/ Logistics Management or equivalent
