Job summary

Serco is hiring an Operations Assistant at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre to help run the centre and deliver high-quality leisure services. You’ll support day-to-day operations, ensure safety and provide excellent customer care in a hands-on, diverse environment.

You will work part-time (21 hours per week) with shifts including early, late, weekends, and bank holidays. The role offers a friendly team setting, training opportunities and a strong focus on safety and service quality.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a busy leisure, hospitality or customer-facing environment.
• Confidence interacting with a wide range of customers, including adults and children.
• Strong focus on safety, responsibility and attention to detail.
• Positive and flexible approach, with ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to complete training and maintain required qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer safety at all times by helping to prevent accidents and responding to incidents.
• Supervise dryside activities, maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and customer care.
• Set up, move and handle equipment safely to support programmed activities across the centre.
• Carry out cleaning duties and maintain high standards of presentation in customer areas, including changing rooms, toilets and health suite facilities.
• Monitor customer behaviour and address unsafe practices promptly, professionally and courteously.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong knowledge of the centre’s facilities, services and activities.

Salary: Pay up to £13,945.78 per annum plus excellent benefits
