Operational Manager – Nurseries (1-Year Maternity Cover)

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Operational Manager to oversee the day-to-day performance and quality standards across three well-established nurseries within the local area. This is a fantastic 1-year maternity cover opportunity for a strong leader with a passion for early years education and a proven track record in multi-site management.

The Role

As the Operational Manager, you will provide strategic and hands-on leadership to ensure each nursery delivers outstanding care and education. You will work closely with Nursery Managers to maintain compliance, drive occupancy, support staff development, and uphold exceptional safeguarding and EYFS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational performance of three nurseries, ensuring each setting meets or exceeds regulatory standards
• Lead, mentor, and support Nursery Managers, driving a positive, collaborative culture
• Maintain strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, health & safety, and Ofsted requirements
• Monitor budgets, staffing, and resource planning to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Implement quality improvement plans and support settings to achieve high Ofsted outcomes
