Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support in a busy customer environment. Based in Preston, you will resolve incidents, fulfill service requests and ensure users receive a responsive, high-quality IT support experience.

You will handle 2nd line incidents, configure software and hardware, and work with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow to maintain SLAs. A strong Windows 10/11 and Office proficiency is essential, along with excellent customer service

Qualifications

Windows 10/11 OS knowledge and Office proficiency.
LTSC Channels and KIOSK experience desirable.
Basic SCCM/Active Directory understanding and ITSM basics.
Networking knowledge: LAN/WAN/VLAN, DHCP, DNS, VPN/remote access.
Exchange/Outlook familiarity and IT etiquette.
Peripherals and hardware experience (printers, displays, docks).
Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow).
Excellent customer service and flexible hours.
Full UK Driving Licence; SC clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

Undertake incident and request tasks and provide second- line support under SLA.
Resolve incidents, keep users informed and maintain incident targets.
Install and configure software and hardware across desktops and laptops.
Coordinate with Level 3 teams for major issues and project tasks.
Support internal and external project managers as required.
Work flexibly with hours to meet business needs.
