Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across a busy customer environment in Derby. You will resolve incidents, fulfil service requests and ensure users receive a responsive, high-quality support experience, with 2nd line responsibility and SLA adherence.

This onsite full-time role requires Windows expertise, ITSM familiarity and strong customer service, with flexibility for hours and a UK driving license.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Windows 10/11 configuration and OS basics.
• Experience with LTSC channels and KIOSK is desirable.
• Understanding of SCCM/Active Directory and ITSM processes.
• Networking knowledge: LAN/WAN/VLAN, Wi‑Fi, DHCP, DNS/WINS, VPN.
• Exchange/Outlook and email client configuration.
• Printers and peripherals support (MFDs, displays, docking stations).
• Familiar with ITSM software (ServiceNow).
• Strong customer-facing communication skills.
• Occasional flexible working hours.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• SC Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake incident and request tasks
• 2nd line responsibility for resolving incidents to SLA
• Maintain <2% incident per month target
• Be responsible for completed works within allocated timeframes
• Undertake Project Tasks, supporting internal and external Project Managers
• Undertake Non-Standard Requests tasks to agreed timescales
• Proactively communicate with Level 3 teams to highlight major issues
• Resolve technical issues for laptop/desktop hardware, networks, printers, etc.
• Install & configure software and hardware
