Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across a busy customer environment in Lincoln. You’ll resolve incidents, fulfill service requests, and ensure users receive a responsive, high-quality support experience onsite.

The role requires strong Windows OS knowledge, ITSM experience (ServiceNow), and good networking basics. You will work with Level 3 teams and Projects, coordinating tasks to meet SLAs while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of SCCM/Active Directory.
• Networking knowledge: LAN/WAN/VLAN, Wi‑Fi, DHCP, DNS.
• Experience with ITSM software (ServiceNow).
• Excellent customer interface and service skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• SC Cleared or willing to obtain SC Clearance.
• Some flexibility with working hours.

Responsibilities

• Handle incident and request tasks to SLA.
• 2nd line responsibility for resolving incidents to SLA.
• Maintain <2% incident per month target.
• Complete assigned work within allocated timeframes.
• Undertake Project Tasks with internal and external PMs.
• Undertake Non-Standard Requests within agreed timescales.
• Coordinate with Level 3 teams for major issues.
• Resolve issues for laptop/desktop hardware, networks, printers, etc.
• Install and configure software and hardware.
