Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across a busy customer environment in Preston on site.

You will handle incidents, fulfill service requests, and maintain SLA targets, with 2nd line responsibility and coordination with Level 3 teams. The role requires strong Windows knowledge, AD basics, networks, printers, and ITSM tooling such as ServiceNow, plus driving license and SC clearance readiness.

Qualifications

• Requires strong Windows OS knowledge (Windows 10/11) and Office proficiency.
• Basic understanding of SCCM and Active Directory, plus ITSM concepts.
• Experience with LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS/WINS and printers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake incident and request tasks.
• 2nd line responsibility for resolving incidents to SLA.
• Maintain a <2% incident per month target.
• Complete assigned work within timeframes.
• Support Project Managers on tasks.
• Handle Non-Standard Requests per agreed timescales.
• Coordinate with Level 3 teams for major issues.
• Resolve hardware and software problems on laptops/desktops, networks and printers.
• Install and configure software and hardware.
