Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across a busy customer environment in Chelmsford. You will resolve incidents, fulfill service requests and ensure users receive a responsive, high-quality support experience.

Location: Chelmsford (onsite full time). You’ll perform 2nd line incident resolution to SLA, handle hardware, software and network issues, install and configure software, and work closely with Level 3 teams to drive effective solutions.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Windows 10/11 including build, config and registry settings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Experience with ITSM tools and incident management.
• Knowledge of VPN and remote connectivity.
• Familiarity with SCCM/Active Directory is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake incident and request tasks
• 2nd line responsibility for resolving incidents to SLA
• Maintain a <2% incident per month target
• Complete assigned work within timeframes
• Undertake Project Tasks with internal and external PMs
• Handle Non-Standard Requests within agreed timescales
• Coordinate with Level 3 teams to highlight major issues
• Resolve hardware, network, printer issues on laptops/desktops
• Install and configure software and hardware
