Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across a busy customer environment on-site at Anglesey. You will handle incidents, fulfill service requests, and ensure a high-quality support experience for users.

The role requires Windows 10/11 expertise, Office proficiency, ITSM familiarity, and strong customer-facing skills. UK driving license, SC clearance eligibility, and flexibility with hours are valued.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11), build/config/registry; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with LTSC Channels and KIOSK is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of SCCM/Active Directory and IT service models.
• Networking knowledge including LAN/WAN/VLAN, Wi‑Fi, DHCP, DNS/WINS, PXE, VPN/remote connectivity.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, and messaging etiquette.
• Peripherals like printers, displays, docking stations, cameras, scanners.
• ITSM software (ServiceNow) experience.
• Excellent customer interface and service skills.
• Flexibility with working hours; UK driving license.
• SC Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake incident and request tasks
• 2nd line responsibility for resolving incidents to SLA
• Maintain a <2% incident per month target
• Be responsible for completion of assigned works within allocated timeframes
• Undertake Project Tasks, supporting internal/external Project Managers
• Undertake Non‑Standard Requests tasks to agreed timescales
• Proactively communicate with Level 3 teams to highlight major issues
• Resolve technical issues for laptop/desktop hardware, networks, printers, etc.
• Install & configure software and hardware
