Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Education Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for SEND learners in Staines-upon-Thames and surrounding areas. You will work across homes and community settings, delivering engaging activities aligned to EHCP goals and developing essential life skills.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, emotional regulation, and partnership with parents and schools to tailor sessions and track progress.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs.
• Experience in roles such as Support Worker, LSA, TA, or related education background is ideal.
• DBS check and 2+ professional references are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support diverse needs and regulate emotions.
• Provide feedback to track progress and adapt support.
