Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Education Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support to SEND learners in homes and community settings across the UK. You will deliver sessions using our curriculum aligned to EHCP goals, focusing on confidence, emotional regulation and life skills as well as academics.

The role offers flexible hours, in-person, hybrid and community-based opportunities, and is suitable for those with previous roles such as LSAs, TAs or Youth Workers.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs.
• Background: Suitable roles include Learning Support Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers or similar.
• Approach: Child-centred, holistic learning with flexibility.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
• Location: Based in the UK with right to work in the UK.
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and safe learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people who may have faced challenges.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings, delivering creative activities.
• Support life skills, confidence and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies.
• Provide feedback to track progress and adapt support as needed.
