Job summary

SENse Learning seeks Education Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support in homes and community settings. You will work with SEND learners, delivering holistic support using the company curriculum across EHCP areas.

The role emphasizes confidence-building, emotional regulation, and life-skills development, with flexible hours and options for in-person, hybrid, or community-based sessions. DBS clearance and references required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health).
• Background in roles such as Support Worker, LSA/TA, or Youth Worker is advantageous.
• Understand how to make the curriculum work in a student-centred way.
• Must pass Enhanced DBS and provide 2+ professional references.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people in homes and community settings.
• Provide one-to-one learning support using creative, interest-based activities.
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies to support diverse needs.
• Model and encourage emotional regulation and track progress with feedback.
