Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an on-site Network Operations Technician in Windsor to provide hands-on support for data centers and offices. You will design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN networks, ensuring availability, performance, and security.

The role requires independent work, adherence to ITIL processes, and collaboration with remote teams. The position involves physical tasks like cabling and device replacement, with potential on-call hours for critical incidents.

Qualifications

• L1/L2 experience in network operations and support or data center environments.
• Strong understanding of networks infrastructure (TCP/IP, routing, switching and dynamic routing protocols).
• Hands-on experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and cabling standards.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed technical instructions from remote teams.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow and ITIL processes is a plus.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for network equipment, servers, and related infrastructure in data centers and office environments.
• Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, and DC networks.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure.
• Perform physical tasks such as cabling, racking, stacking, and replacing hardware components.
• Assist in network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, hardware failures, and configuration support under remote guidance.
• Execute smart hands activities, including power cycling, patching, and device resets as per instructions from NOC or engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of activities, incidents, and changes performed on-site.
• Coordinate with remote network operations teams to resolve escalated issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with customer security and operational standards during all activities.
