Job summary

Aston University in Birmingham is seeking a highly experienced IT Support Engineer to join our Digital Services Desktop Support team and help deliver and continuously enhance end-user IT services across the University.

This on-site role requires a problem-solver who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and is eager to grow technical skills while supporting staff and students with devices and operating systems.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in a related subject (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience in an academic or large organisational IT environment preferred but not essential.
• Ability to deploy, configure, maintain and retire end-user devices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line IT support to staff and students.
• Deploy, configure, maintain and retire end-user devices.
• Diagnose and fix technical problems and maintain precise case notes.
• Collaborate with colleagues, suppliers and service partners.
