About the Opportunity
Leader Recruitment Group is thrilled to partner with a family-run organisation with a 10-year legacy in providing outstanding education and care for children, to recruit a Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bed children's residential home in Oldham. Specialising in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), this home operates under the trauma-informed PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), offering a nurturing, family-oriented environment. With renovations underway and a supportive framework in place, this is a unique chance to lead a new service, build your own staff team, and make a lasting impact on young lives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the setup and operation of the new home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and Children's Homes Regulations.

Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care using the PACE model, promoting recovery and well-being for young people with EBD.

Recruit, build, and mentor a dedicated staff team, shaping a cohesive and compassionate workforce.

Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Manage budgets, resources, and daily operations, maintaining a warm, family-like environment (complete with a small garden for BBQs!).

Collaborate with Jasmine (Responsible Individual and Director) and external agencies, including local authorities, to ensure seamless service delivery.

Drive the Ofsted registration process, leveraging the organisation's strong relationship with Ofsted.

About You

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

At least 3 years' experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting, ideally with EBD expertise.

Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, The Children Act 1989, and safeguarding practices.

Experience in budget management and team leadership.

Full UK Driving Licence and flexibility for on-call duties.

Passion for trauma-informed care and building a family-oriented team.

Experience opening or managing a new children's home.

Familiarity with the PACE model or similar therapeutic approaches.

About the Client
The client is part of a family-run organisation based in Oldham, with a 10-year history of delivering exceptional education and care. This new 3-bed EBD home, currently undergoing renovations from a former HMO, is designed to feel like a true family home. Led by a former social worker and hands-on Responsible Individual, the organisation fosters a close-knit, supportive culture. With planning, documentation, and locality assessments complete, the home is ready for Ofsted registration and eager to welcome its first residents.

What's on Offer

Competitive salary of £45,000 per annum.

Opportunity to shape a new service and hand-pick your staff team, working closely with a supportive RI.

A family-oriented culture with a focus on trauma-informed care and staff well-being.

Comprehensive support for Ofsted registration and ongoing operations.

Career growth within a reputable organisation with a strong track record in education and care.

A welcoming, newly decorated home environment with a small garden for community activities.
