Job summary

Milestones Day Nursery in the United Kingdom is seeking a passionate Room Leader to guide a dedicated room team, delivering high-quality care and learning in line with the EYFS framework.

You will mentor staff, plan engaging activities, monitor progress, foster strong relationships with families, and uphold safeguarding, welfare, and outstanding standards.

About the Role

As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading a room team to deliver high-quality care and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will create a welcoming environment for children and families while ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, care, and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support a team of practitioners.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework.
• Monitor children's learning and development and maintain accurate observations and assessments.
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on children's progress.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are always met.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
• Support children's emotional, social, and physical development.
• Mentor and support team members, apprentices, and students.
• Work closely with the management team to maintain outstanding standards throughout the nursery.

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above) recognised in the UK.
• Previous experience working in an early years setting.
• Experience leading or supervising a nursery room is desirable.
• Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A positive, caring, and enthusiastic approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
