Pelican Place Nursery, part of the Family First Group, is seeking a Nursery Deputy Manager in Witham to lead daily care and education, ensuring EYFS compliance and a high standard of practice.

The role requires a Level 3 childcare qualification and leadership experience with more than 1 year in Early Years. Permanent contract, 36 hours per week, with benefits including significant staff discounts and pension.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
• Understand and ensure EYFS requirements are met throughout the nursery.
• Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
• Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources appropriate to their age and development.
• Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication, impartiality, and consistency.
• Inspire staff with creative ideas and challenges to achieve outstanding practice.
• Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and files.
• Undertake other duties to ensure smooth running and safety of children, staff, and families.

Requirements:

• Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
• Leadership experience - Essential
• Over 1 years’ experience of working in Early Years - Essential
• Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
• Over 1 years’ experience of working in a management position - Desirable.
• Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - Desirable
• Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding – Desirable
