Job summary

Family First Nurseries Group in Weybridge is seeking a Nursery Deputy Manager for CherryLands Nursery. This permanent role is 43 hours per week, with a salary up to £38,682 per year depending on experience and 75% off nursery fees.

You will lead a dedicated team, ensure EYFS requirements are met, and contribute to high‑quality care and education. Level 3 childcare qualification is essential; leadership and management experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
• Leadership experience - Essential
• Over 1 years’ experience in Early Years - Essential
• Regulatory knowledge of EYFS requirements - Essential
• Level 5 qualification in Childcare/Management - Desirable
• Ofsted inspection experience to Good/Outstanding - Desirable

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor.
• Ensure EYFS framework requirements are met across the nursery.
• Administer medication with up-to-date care plans for health conditions.
• Provide stimulating experiences and age-appropriate environments.
• Promote respectful communication, impartiality, and consistency.
• Inspire staff with creative ideas to achieve outstanding practice.
• Maintain accurate records on EyMan system and files.
• Undertake other duties to ensure smooth nursery operations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
  
• Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery.
  
• Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
  
• Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  
• Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication skills, impartiality, and consistency.
  
• Inspire staff team with creative ideas and new challenges with aim to achieve outstanding practice.
  
• Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file.
  
• Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.

Requirements:

• Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
  
• Leadership experience - Essential
  
• Over 1 years’ experience of working in Early Years - Essential
  
• Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  
• Over 1 years’ experience of working in a management position - Desirable.
  
• Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - Desirable
  
• Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding – Desirable
