Job summary

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Nursery Assistant to join a welcoming primary school and support their on‑site nursery provision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about early years education, who enjoys supporting children aged 3-4 in a safe, creative, and nurturing environment.

You will work 8.30-17:30 all year round, with pay starting at £14.66 per hour PAYE or £16.70 umbrella, in Frome.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (early years desirable).
• Caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• An enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children in their daily routines, play, and early learning activities.
• Assisting nursery staff with planned lessons and free‑flow learning.
• Creating a warm, safe, and stimulating environment.
• Supporting with personal care routines where required.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social development.
• Communicating effectively with staff and pupils.
• Ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are always met.
