Job summary

Empowering Learning is partnering with a chain of private day nurseries in Durham to recruit an EYFS Qualified Teaching Assistant. You will support children through their early years, helping with play-based activities and observing progress.

The role requires Level 2/3 EYFS qualification, DBS (Update Service preferred), teamwork, and a caring, patient approach. Pay is 93-110 per day with weekly PAYE, plus opportunities to develop in a supportive nursery environment.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification.
• Experience in a nursery, pre-school or Reception setting.
• Good understanding of EYFS framework and child development.
• DBS on Update Service, or willingness to purchase one.
• Able to provide professional references covering last 2 years of work/education history.
• Reliable, committed and able to work as part of a busy Early Years team.

About the Role

What We're Looking For

Essential requirements:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification - ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience working in a nursery, pre-school or Reception setting
• A good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
• A caring, patient and proactive approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and children's welfare
• Comfortable supporting children with personal care, including nappy changing
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to purchase one
• Able to provide professional references covering your last 2 years of work and/or education history
• Reliable, committed and able to work as part of a busy Early Years team
