Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Principal Nuclear Safety Consultant to lead safety-case work across diverse nuclear projects in a regulated environment. You will influence decisions, mentor specialists and contribute to business growth through proposals and client relationships.

You will oversee safety case development, engage regulators, deliver quality reports, and shape multi-year programmes from decommissioning to energy projects, while balancing governance and technical delivery.

Qualifications

Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with substantial nuclear safety case experience.
Chartered status is advantageous, with strong regulatory and safety management knowledge.
Ongoing professional development and a proactive, senior technical leader mindset.

Responsibilities

Lead the development, assessment and review of nuclear safety cases in regulated environments.
Provide governance over projects, including planning, resourcing and financial oversight.
Engage with clients and regulators to communicate safety arguments and manage accounts.
Produce and assure high-quality safety-case documentation and technical reports.
Mentor colleagues and, where applicable, line manage junior team members.
