Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe seeks a Principal Nuclear Safety Consultant to provide high-level technical leadership in delivering robust nuclear safety cases for diverse projects across regulated environments.

You will guide safety case development, assessment and documentation, while driving project governance, resourcing and client/regulator engagement. Hybrid work model with UK offices and remote capability.

Qualifications

• This role requires a degree in engineering or science and substantial experience in nuclear safety case development or assessment.
• Chartered status is advantageous with a strong understanding of nuclear plant operations and safety management principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, assessment and review of safety cases for a diverse portfolio of nuclear projects.
• Provide technical leadership, governance, planning, resourcing and financial oversight for programmes.
• Engage with clients and regulators to present safety arguments and secure approvals.
• Mentor colleagues and support professional development within the team.
• Produce high-quality technical reports and manage peer reviews to regulatory standards.
