Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is seeking a Principal Nuclear Safety Consultant to lead the development, assessment and review of nuclear safety cases for a varied portfolio of projects, including decommissioning, energy generation and defence work.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor colleagues, manage project governance and engage with clients and regulators to secure timely approvals while delivering high-quality safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
• Chartered status with a recognised professional body is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of nuclear plant operations, regulatory frameworks and safety management principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, assessment and review of safety cases across diverse projects.
• Provide technical leadership in safety case delivery within a safety critical environment.
• Engage with regulators and clients to present clear, defensible safety arguments and manage major accounts.
