Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International, offers a four-year Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship. You’ll study toward a BEng (Hons) in Nuclear Engineering while gaining hands-on experience on projects that support safe delivery of nuclear new build and decommissioning.

Based at Leicester with sites such as Sellafield, you’ll shadow engineers across the design lifecycle, develop CAD models, and contribute to documentation and calculations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above including Maths, English and Science.
• UCAS points at A Level including Maths and Physics or another STEM subject.
• BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent) considered.
• IB/other routes with appropriate Maths/Physics requirements.

Responsibilities

• Shadow experienced engineers to learn design, modelling, calculations and documentation.
• Define design requirements and develop 3D CAD models.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and scoping calculations.
• Assist in equipment specifications, technical reports and obsolescence management.
