Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is offering a 4‑year Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship in Leicester. You will study toward a Nuclear Scientist and Nuclear Engineer degree while gaining hands-on experience across CAD, modelling, calculations, and documentation for nuclear projects.

You’ll be mentored by engineers, learn design lifecycle tasks, and support major programmes from initial concept to deployment, with qualifications delivered through the University of Derby.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and Science.
• UCAS points or alternative Engineering qualifications as outlined.
• Ability to attain BPSS and Security Check security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support across all phases of the engineering lifecycle on nuclear projects.
• Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and design calculations.
• Prepare equipment specifications, technical reports, and EPC-related documents.
• Shadow and learn from experienced engineers to build core design skills.
