Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear offers a Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6) in Leicester. This four‑year programme combines hands‑on engineering work with university study toward a BEng (Hons) in Nuclear Engineering.

You’ll shadow experienced engineers, gain CAD/modelling experience, learn across design, calculations and documentation, and support safety and compliance on major nuclear projects.

Qualifications

• GCSEs required: Maths, English and Science at grade C/4 or above; plus STEM or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience with CAD/3D modelling and producing engineering drawings is beneficial.
• Security clearance requirement BPSS/SC eligibility and UK residency may apply.

Responsibilities

• Support the end-to-end engineering lifecycle across design, modelling and documentation.
• Develop 3D CAD models and prepare detailed drawings and calculations.
• Assist with equipment specifications and technical reports for projects.
• Work with operations teams to resolve technical issues and support on-site reviews.
