Join Cavendish Nuclear’s Mechanical Engineering Apprentice programme in Leicester, where you’ll study towards a BEng (Hons) in Nuclear Engineering while gaining hands-on experience on projects that support the safe delivery of nuclear new build and decommissioning.

You’ll shadow experienced engineers, develop CAD models, perform calculations, and produce engineering documentation to national and international standards, with mentoring and a structured development plan throughout the four-year

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths, English and Science.
• 104 UCAS points at A Level including Maths and Physics or another STEM subject at grade C.
• BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM in Engineering including Maths units.
• Pass Access Course: 104 points including 15 Level 3 credits in Maths and Physics or STEM at Merit.
• International Baccalaureate: 104 points from Higher Level subjects including Higher Level 6 in Maths and Physics or STEM
• T Level: Merit including Maths and Physics
• IELTS: 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5
• BPSS and Security Check eligibility considerations for security clearance

Responsibilities

• Shadow experienced engineers, building a foundation in design, modelling, calculations, and documentation.
• Develop 3D CAD models and produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Carry out scoping calculations and prepare equipment specifications and technical reports.
• Support assembly, testing, and operational teams; resolve engineering queries and nonconformance issues.
• Gain exposure to advanced engineering tools and the full design lifecycle.
