Rapid Personnel are partnered with one of the UK’s leading and most recognised food manufacturers, based in Newbury, recruiting for an NPD Assistant. This is a vital position within their overall operations, so we are seeking reliable and detail‑oriented applicants looking for long‑term work opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage stocks of raw materials and packaging within the development kitchen
  • Decanting of raw materials and labelling
  • Manage the inventory of ingredients in the outside chiller/freezer
  • Assist and support the product developers with the weighing of ingredients for samples
  • Organising own daily workload
  • Ensure products are reviewed with the product developer to ensure quality requirements met
  • Daily fridge and freezer temperature recording
  • Daily calibration of the pH meter, regular cleaning of pH probes and ensuring in correct solution overnight
  • Work with the product developers to ensure the kitchen remains clean and tidy at all times
  • Assist the team in the packing of samples
  • Record all product sample information such as pH during sample production
  • Transfer stock of ingredients to NPD in the unity system
  • Place orders for finished stock from the warehouse
Requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate a consistent approach to food hygiene and health & safety procedures throughout the workplace
  • Degree in food development/science or food technology
  • At least 2 years in the food industry or in food science – desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and organised
