Sainsbury's is seeking an experienced nightshift lead to manage a small team of managers overnight, ensuring replenishment and readiness for the next day’s trading. You will plan for key trading events, supervise pay and scheduling, and coach for high standards while safeguarding safety.

Role emphasizes consistent customer focus, leadership across operations, and the ability to drive performance in a busy retail environment. This is a full‑time, overnight role with a premium on night shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large teams in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences while managing complex operations.
• Record of delivering and improving KPIs across sales, availability, and satisfaction.
• Experience handling sensitive people matters, including performance and absence.
• Operational leadership in retail, hospitality, or food service contexts.
• Evidence of leading change and embedding new ways of working.
• Desirable: night shift experience in a high‑volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small team of managers overnight, and together with your colleagues, deliver all replenishment activities ready for our customers the following morning
• Planning for upcoming key trading activities and events by working closely with the rest of the store leadership team.
• People management, including pay and scheduling routines, training, communication and employee relation activities such as managing performance, absence, and completing disciplinaries.
• Regularly taking full accountability for the store overnight, role modelling and coaching for high standards and efficiency across the store.
• Take accountability for the health and safety of every one of the colleagues who works with you on a shift.
