Job summary

Witherslack Group in the United Kingdom seeks night support workers to be a trusted presence for children and young people through the night. You’ll help with onboarding, trauma support, and daily tasks while building strong relationships to foster positive outcomes.

The role offers a 4-week Care Academy induction, a base salary of £29,449‑£32,496, various bonuses, and a strong commitment to wellbeing and progression within the group.

Qualifications

• A ‘can do’ attitude – a team player who rolls up their sleeves to help others
• We genuinely care about our young people (and each other) so honesty and empathy is a must
• The resilience to be able to deal with challenging situations
• A full UK driving licence which you’ve held for at least 12 months
• If you don’t have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), we’ll pay for you to study and support you every step of the way
• You’ll start life as a NSO by joining our ‘Care Academy’ – 4 weeks of off the job training with experienced WG professionals to help you feel confident and ready to support our young people.

Responsibilities

• You’ll take care of the home and our young people through the night, supporting them during trauma, illness or sleepless moments
• Build rapport and become someone our young people can trust in their time of need
• Complete tasks around the home such as paperwork, cleaning and laundry when quieter times occur
• Tapping into each young person’s needs, personality and potential to guide them toward a positive future
