Phoenix Care Staff Ltd. is seeking a Newborn Care Assistant for night shifts to support families as they settle with a newborn.

The role focuses on monitoring baby and family safety, recording observations, and escalating concerns per safeguarding policies. Previous newborn or childcare experience and an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service are preferred. The position requires vigilance, calmness, and professionalism during night hours.

Competenze

• At least 6 months’ experience working in a UK care setting.
• Previous newborn or childcare experience preferred.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service preferred.

Mansioni

• Monitor family interactions: observe care quality and identify strengths and needs.
• Maintain safety and safeguarding: use monitoring systems per policies and privacy rules.
• Intervene when unsafe newborn care practices are observed and escalate as needed.
• Keep detailed, objective notes of observations, incidents and interventions.
• Support families with newborn guidance on handling, feeding, settling and safe sleep.
• Identify and report concerns promptly to the appropriate senior staff.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety policies.
• Provide clear handovers to colleagues and management for continuity.
• Remain vigilant overnight and respond to changing circumstances.
