Phoenix Care Staff Ltd is seeking a compassionate Newborn Care Assistant to work night shifts in a UK care setting. The role focuses on monitoring families with newborns, ensuring safety and wellbeing, and maintaining accurate records.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months’ experience in a UK care environment, with preferred newborn or childcare experience and a valid Enhanced DBS check. Night shift duties require vigilance and empathy.

• Monitor family interactions: Observe how parents and family care for newborns, noting strengths, needs and risks.
• Maintain safety and safeguarding: Use monitoring systems and follow safeguarding and privacy policies.
• Intervene when necessary: Recognise unsafe care and escalate per procedures.
• Maintain detailed, objective notes: Document observations, incidents and concerns.
• Support families with newborn guidance: Safe handling, feeding, settling and safe sleep practices.
• Identify and report concerns: Flag risks to senior staff promptly.
• Follow policies and procedures: Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety rules.
• Provide clear handovers: Communicate observations and updates to colleagues.
• Remain vigilant overnight: Stay proactive and responsive during night shifts.
