Phoenix Care Staff Ltd. is seeking a compassionate Newborn Care Assistant for night shifts to support families adjusting to caring for newborns. The role focuses on monitoring, safeguarding, and promoting safe newborn care within a care setting.

The successful candidate will observe family interactions, maintain accurate records, and intervene when care practices do not meet required standards. Vigilance and professionalism are essential for night coverage.

Competenze

• At least 6 months’ experience working in a UK care setting.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service is preferred.

Mansioni

• Monitor family interactions and safeguarding during night shifts.
• Maintain safety and safeguarding using designated monitoring systems.
• Intervene when unsafe or inappropriate newborn care practices and escalate as needed.
• Maintain detailed, objective notes of observations and concerns during the shift.
• Support families in following newborn care guidance, including safe handling and settling.
• Identify and report concerns to the appropriate senior staff member promptly.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and infection prevention policies.
• Provide clear handovers of observations and updates to colleagues and management.
• Remain vigilant overnight and respond to changing circumstances and risks.
