Job summary

The Imperial Hotel Blackpool is seeking a capable Night Manager to lead the night team, safeguard guests and colleagues, and oversee the overnight audit process. You will coordinate with every department to maintain seamless service and timely communications across the hotel.

Ideal candidates will have hotel hospitality or supervisory experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or hospitality, preferably in supervisory/management.
• Strong attention to detail, especially night audit and end-of-day tasks.
• Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with PMS and hotel systems.
• Calm, responsible with independent decision-making at night.
• Willing to work night shifts and stay focused overnight.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of guests and colleagues during the night shift.
• Manage the night team, ensuring effectiveness, training and development.
• Act as main contact for in-house and external guest queries overnight.
• Liaise with all departments for swift, efficient hotel communication.
• Oversee smooth overnight operations and high service levels.
• Prepare detailed handover notes and coordinate emergencies with departments.

Responsibilities

• The principal responsibility is the safety and security of guests, colleagues and the hotel, whilst ensuring the accurate and timely completion of the night audit function during the overnight hours
• You will manage the night team, ensuring each member is effective, supported, trained and developed
• Being the main point of contact for all in-house and external guest queries and requests during the night
• Liaising with all departments and ensuring swift and efficient communication across the hotel
• Taking responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel overnight, ensuring guests receive a consistently high level of service
• 1. Maintain clear communication with the day team by preparing detailed handover notes and ensuring all relevant information is recorded 2. Handle any emergency situations overnight, acting as the point of contact and coordinating with the appropriate departments and emergency services where required

Requirements

• Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality or supervisory/management role, preferably within a night operation
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when completing night audit, financial reconciliation and end-of-day procedures
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle guest enquiries and complaints professionally and confidently
• Good IT skills and familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and hotel operating systems
• A calm, responsible and professional approach, with the ability to make sound decisions independently during the night
• Flexibility to work night shifts and the ability to remain focused, organised and productive throughout the overnight operation
