Job description
Overview

We're looking for talented and motivated professionals to help shape the future of public transport across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. As part of our growing Network Development team, you'll play a key role in delivering the Combined Authority's ambitious bus strategy. We currently have three exciting opportunities, each focused on a different specialism.

Opportunity 1 — Network Development Planner: Bus Stops & Shelters

Lead the delivery of our programme to expand and improve bus stops and shelters, creating safe, accessible and welcoming environments for passengers. You'll manage contracts, budgets, and suppliers, and work with councils and developers to ensure the right infrastructure is in the right places.

Opportunity 2 — Network Development Planner: Fares & Ticketing

Shape the future of fares and ticketing across the region's bus network. You'll design and deliver products that make travel simpler and more attractive, manage fare policy and contracts, and introduce new technology to improve the customer experience for over 20 million journeys a year.

Opportunity 3 — Network Development Planner: Investment & Growth

Drive new investment into the bus network by securing Section 106 developer contributions and business funding. You'll turn these into sustainable new services, working with councils, developers, and operators to deliver long-term improvements for passengers.

Qualifications
  • Experience in public transport planning, infrastructure, fares/ticketing, or service design
  • Strong skills in contract management, budget control, and stakeholder engagement
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to solve problems and deliver projects on time
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A good understanding of the UK bus industry and political sensitivities
  • This role does not offer visa sponsorship. You must have an existing and valid right to work in the UK at the time of application.
Benefits
  • Be part of a team shaping the future of sustainable transport in the region
  • Work on high-profile projects that directly improve people's daily journeys
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across public and private sectors
  • Competitive salary and excellent benefits package
