Job summary

Ocean Housing Group in St Austell, Cornwall, is seeking a Neighbourhood Services Officer. You will manage a designated patch of tenancies, deliver estate and tenancy management, and build strong relationships with tenants and local agencies.

You will respond to tenancy issues, support vulnerable customers with empathy, and help shape neighbourhood initiatives. This is a fixed-term role with a regional travel requirement.

Qualifications

  • Dealing with customers in challenging or sensitive situations.
  • Delivering face-to-face customer service.
  • Administration and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality estate and tenancy management services.
  • Build strong relationships with tenants, partners and local agencies.
  • Carry out tenancy visits, inspections, and support sustainability.
  • Respond proactively to tenancy breaches, ASB, safeguarding and housing issues.
  • Support vulnerable customers with empathy and professionalism.
  • Help shape neighbourhood improvements and community initiatives.
  • Be an ambassador for Ocean Housing and our values every day.

The Vacancy

Location: St Austell, Cornwall (with travel across the region)

Salary: £31,572 per annum

Contract: Fixed term contract ending 31st of March 2028

Hours: 37 Hours per week

About the Role

As a Neighbourhood Services Officer, you’ll manage a designated patch of tenancies and play a vital role in supporting residents, tackling issues, and helping our communities flourish.

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • A team player - supportive, collaborative and positive
  • IT-literate - confident in using MS Office and case management systems
Essential Experience Includes:
  • Dealing with customers in challenging or sensitive situations
  • Delivering face-to-face customer service
  • Administration and accurate record-keeping

A Level (or Level 3 equivalent) is required.

Housing-related qualifications or CIH membership are desirable, but not essential.
