Teign Homes is seeking a Community Housing Officer to help deliver cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods, conducting regular property inspections and addressing tenancy breaches. You will support lettings sign-ups, rents visits and coordinate access for safety checks with contractors.
The role requires building relationships with diverse customers and meeting targets with diplomacy and problem-solving. A flexible, person‑centred approach is essential in this Investor in People Platinum
Help us turn great homes into great places to live.
At Teign Homes, we're driven by a simple but powerful mission: to provide good quality homes for our residents and rewarding, flexible careers for our people. As a thriving social landlord with over 200 dedicated professionals across Teign Homes and Templer Home Build, we proudly own and manage more than 4,000 homes across Teignbridge, the South Hams, East Devon, Mid Devon, West Devon, and Exeter.
We don't just offer housing—we create communities. Our commitment goes beyond bricks and mortar. We deliver high-quality homes and personalised guidance that empower individuals and families to thrive.
We believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable, and welcoming place to call home. If you share our passion for building vibrant communities and delivering services that truly matter, we'd love to hear from you.
We're now looking for a Community Housing Officer to join our dynamic team.
Bring your skills, your ideas, and your drive—and help us shape the future of housing in Devon.
Helping us deliver cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods, you will undertake regular inspections of our estates and actively address any property condition concerns, antisocial behaviour or breaches of tenancy condition. You will carry out two yearly Keeping In Touch Visits with residents in their home. You will be pivotal in working towards keeping the company compliant, by helping our repairs company to access properties for appointments such as gas safety tests, electrical safety tests and other statutory repairs and works required. You will be providing community charters and events for the residents in your area. You will assist our Lettings Co-ordinator, by completing viewings and sign ups for new residents and you will assist the rents team with home visits, plus many more tenancy management tasks.
Alongside sound experience of social housing, you should bring a proven ability to build good relationships with diverse customers and a demonstrable flair for meeting stretching targets. This is an extremely varied role, where no two days are the same, therefore being able to prioritize and being adaptable are crucial in this role. If you're familiar with housing legislation, so much the better, but it's your diplomacy, determination, desire to work in a role that helps others, and talent for problem-solving that will make the difference every day.
As an Investor in People Platinum organisation, you will be joining a company that creates a supportive high-performance culture.
