Job summary

Ocean Housing is seeking a proactive Neighbourhood Services Administrator to support the Neighbourhood Services Team. This fixed-term, part-time role (22.2 hours per week) involves handling diverse administrative tasks, data processing, and providing excellent service to residents across Cornwall.

You will manage records, support housing management functions, prepare reports, and assist with meetings and events, while ensuring compliance and high-quality service standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative and data entry experience.
  • Experience with GDPR and data protection principles.
  • Experience in housing, local government or social housing is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive admin support across housing services.
  • Assist with mutual exchanges, lettings, and empty homes processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and timely data updates.
  • Produce reports and performance information.
  • Organise meetings, minutes and travel arrangements.

Join Ocean Housing as a Neighbourhood Services AdministratorThe role is being offered on a Fixed Term basis until 5th of November 2027, part time, over 22.2 hours a week. The salary is £15,526.68 per annum (FTE £25,877.80)

What you will be doing:

As a key member of the Neighbourhood Services Team, you'll provide comprehensive administrative support across a range of housing services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a variety of administrative tasks including correspondence, filing, scanning, mail merges and data processing.
  • Supporting housing management functions, including mutual exchanges and empty homes processes.
  • Processing property terminations, applications, nominations and lettings administration.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring data is updated promptly and correctly.
  • Producing reports and performance information.
  • Organising meetings, events and travel arrangements.
  • Taking accurate minutes and supporting team meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR and organisational policies.
  • Providing excellent customer service to residents, colleagues and external partners.

  • Flexible, proactive and keen to learn and develop their skills
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Experience using IT systems and databases.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Minute-taking experience.
  • Knowledge of data protection principles and GDPR.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety responsibilities.
  • Experience within housing, local government or social housing.
  • Experience working with external agencies and partners.
  • Business correspondence or letter-writing experience.
  • Experience coordinating projects, events or processes.
  • A Level qualifications or equivalent.
  • A recognised IT qualification such as ECDL
