Job summary

Aster Group in Dorset is seeking a proactive Housing Officer to deliver an effective landlord service and build communities our customers are proud to live in. You will manage tenancy and estate matters, handle enquiries and breaches, and develop action plans including enforcement of tenancy conditions.

You will conduct neighbourhood inspections, coordinate repairs with colleagues, and respond flexibly to unplanned situations.

Qualifications

• Experience in tenancy and estate management is essential.

• Knowledge of housing practice and legislation.
• Willingness to travel within Dorset region.

Job description

You'll provide an effective and flexible landlord service to our customers to build communities our customers are proud to live in. With a risk-based approach, you'll manage properties dealing with all aspects of tenancy and estate management. You'll work in conjunction with our customers daily, supporting them with tenancy enquiries and where appropriate, addressing tenancy breaches, creating action plans including enforcement of tenancy conditions. You'll complete neighbourhood inspections, liaising with relevant colleagues to remedy any repairs or maintenance.

It is essential that you have tenancy and estate management experience alongside a good knowledge of housing practice and legislation. You will be able to flexibly respond to unplanned situations, and you'll be confident to think on your feet to problem solve in the moment. You'll be liaising with our customers daily, so you'll have experience of handling challenging situations with a wide variety of customers who's needs will vary. You must be organised and able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload with competing demands. You'll possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work at pace, and you will be a proficient user of IT including the Microsoft office suite. You'll need to hold a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle for work purposes and be comfortable travelling around our Dorset region. The team meet at our Weymouth and Wareham Office HUBs.
