Job summary

The Aster Group is seeking a Neighbourhood Officer to join our West Dorset team. You will deliver an effective landlord service, focusing on tenancy and estate management, community safety, and value for customers in our neighbourhoods.

You will handle tenancy enquiries, address breaches, complete neighbourhood inspections, and coordinate repairs with colleagues. A driving licence and ability to travel across Dorset are essential to your role.

Qualifications

• Experience in tenancy and estate management with knowledge of housing practice and legislation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a diverse workload.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work.
• Willing to travel around the Dorset region.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office.

We're looking for a Neighbourhood Officer to join our team in West Dorset.

What you'll be doing:

You'll provide an effective and flexible landlord service to our customers to build communities our customers are proud to live in. With a risk-based approach, you'll manage properties dealing with all aspects of tenancy and estate management.

You'll work in conjunction with our customers daily, supporting them with tenancy enquiries and where appropriate, addressing tenancy breaches, creating action plans including enforcement of tenancy conditions.

You'll complete neighbourhood inspections, liaising with relevant colleagues to remedy any repairs or maintenance.

About you:

You'll have experience of working in a customer facing role, approaching daily challenges enthusiastically. It is essential that you have tenancy and estate management experience alongside a good knowledge of housing practice and legislation.

You will be able to flexibly respond to unplanned situations, and you'll be confident to think on your feet to problem solve in the moment.

You'll be liaising with our customers daily, so you'll have experience of handling challenging situations with a wide variety of customers who's needs will vary. You must be organised and able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload with competing demands.

You'll possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work at pace, and you will be a proficient user of IT including the Microsoft office suite.

You'll need to hold a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle for work purposes and be comfortable travelling around our Dorset region. The team meet at our Weymouth and Wareham Office HUBs.
