VIVID is seeking a dedicated Neighbourhood Officer to support thriving communities. You will handle tenancy matters, health and safety issues, and repairs, acting as the main contact for residents in your patch.
The role involves regular community engagement and collaboration with internal teams to resolve issues and improve estates. Based in Portsmouth with a remote-working pattern, you will travel across West Sussex and surrounding areas.
Are you passionate about creating safe, thriving neighbourhoods and delivering excellent customer service?
We’re recruiting for a Neighbourhood Officer to join our team! This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours a week. Contractually based out of our Portsmouth office you’ll predominantly cover West Sussex and the surrounding area. This is a remote working role, so you’ll mostly be out & around within the community in your designated patch!
As a Neighbourhood Officer, you’ll be main contact for customers within your patch. As their go-to person, they can talk to you about a range of matters in relation to their tenancy conditions, health and safety issues, rent/service charges, repairs and more.
Your overall aim as Neighbourhood Officer, is to help create attractive, safe, sustainable and well-maintained communities for our customers to live in. As part of this, you’ll make sure we offer them good quality and ‘value for money’ services. You’ll soon get to know and understand who our customers are and be able to identify the support they may need to keep their tenancies.
As a customer-focused professional, you'll build strong relationships with our customers, providing proactive support and regular communication while delivering a responsive service. You'll work collaboratively with teams across the organisation, including lettings, income, and compliance services, and will recognise when you need to make referrals to the tenancy support team so that things are put in place for customers to keep & maintain their tenancies. You’ll also work with external partners, to help customers access the support they need. You'll also contribute to estate improvement initiatives, community engagement activities and the delivery of high-quality housing management services that provide value for money.
We’re looking for someone who's customer focused, who can confidently handle challenging customers and any neighbour disputes. Resilience, assertiveness and the ability to work under pressure are important in this role. You’ll have demonstrable experience of working with the general public face to face, or in a public services environment showing a strong background in service delivery. You'll have an awareness / understanding of the social housing sector and although experience in housing management/law would be an advantage, we’re really keen to encourage people from a variety of backgrounds, who can apply a range of transferable skills, and a fresh approach to how we deliver a great customer experience!
As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement. Business mileage will be paid.
Interviews are due to take place 2 and 3 November (subject to change).
