Responsibilities

  • Perform NDT inspections using various testing methods.

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure product integrity.
  • Participate in audits and quality reviews.
  • Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols.

Skills

Familiarity with ISO 3834, 5817, EN 1090, and TWI welding inspection standards
Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and defect characterization
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld maps

Education

Certification in NDT methods (PCN, ASNT Level II or III)
Proven experience in heavy steel fabrication or marine environments
Job description

Navantia UK is a UK incorporated company, subsidiary of Spanish Navantia, created to work with UK industrial partners in shipbuilding, defence and in offshore wind energy. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform NDT inspections using methods such as UT (Ultrasonic Testing), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), and VT (Visual Testing).
  • Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 3834 welding quality requirements and TWI best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with welding inspectors, quality engineers, and production teams to ensure product integrity.
  • Participate in audits and quality reviews as required.
  • Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety in all testing activities.
Qualifications
  • Certification in NDT methods (e.g., PCN, ASNT Level II or III, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience and qualifications in a heavy steel fabrication or marine environments.
Skills
  • Familiarity with ISO 3834, 5817 EN 1090, and TWI welding inspection standards.
