Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking a mobile Electrician / Electrical Engineer to perform electrical installation works across retail and commercial sites nationwide. The role offers a strong earning potential and requires flexible travel across the UK, with most sites within about an hour of your home location, and occasional short stays away when needed.

You will carry out fast-track fit-outs, refurbishments and distribution, with a focus on high standards of workmanship and safety.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Gold Card (ECS or CSCS).
• Qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer with strong installation experience.
• Retail fit-out experience desirable, especially on fast-track projects.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrical installation works across retail, hospitality and commercial fit-out projects.
• Working on fast-track refurbishments, rollouts, small works and planned installation schemes.
• Installing containment, cabling, lighting, power, distribution, accessories and associated electrical systems.
• Supporting testing, inspection, snagging, remedials and handover where required.
• Reading drawings, site information and work instructions to deliver installations correctly.
• Working safely in live or fast-moving retail environments.
• Liaising with site managers, project managers, client representatives and other trades.
• Keeping accurate records of works completed, materials used, issues raised and any follow-on requirements.
• Travelling to projects across the UK when required, although work is normally planned within around an hour of your home location.
• Staying away when the project requires it, usually for short periods rather than every week.
• Representing the business professionally on client sites and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
