Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking a mobile Electrician / Electrical Engineer for nationwide retail and hospitality projects. You’ll install across fast-track fit-outs, refurbishments and live environments, with travel nationwide and weekly home base.

The role guarantees 37.5 hours, with typical weeks 50–80 hours. Earn £24.85 per hour plus van, fuel card, BUPA, life insurance, pension and 25 days’ holiday, giving about £62,500–£96,400 before tax.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Gold Card (ECS or CSCS)
• Qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer with strong installation experience
• Retail fit-out or fast-track project experience would be ideal
• Testing/inspection knowledge (2391, 2394/2395) is useful but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away occasionally

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation works across retail, hospitality and commercial fit-out projects.
• Work on fast-track refurbishments, rollouts, small works and planned installation schemes.
• Install containment, cabling, lighting, power, distribution, and related electrical systems.
• Support testing, inspection, snagging, remedials and handover as required.
• Read drawings and site information to deliver installations correctly.
• Work safely in live or fast-moving retail environments.
• Liaise with site managers, project managers, client representatives and other trades.
• Keep accurate records of works, materials used, issues raised and follow-on requirements.
• Travel to projects across the UK; be based near home location with around an hour travel.
• Stay away when project demand calls for it, usually short periods.
